Snow, mountains and some skiing in Austria.

Across the Austrian Alps.

Trins, Tyrol. Austria

December, 2011

Trins is a tiny little village near Innsbruck, it's beautiful, quaint and traditionally Austrian. Trins has it's own baby ski piste, perfect for beginners and young kids. You can also get a great meal, and a bed for the night at The Trinserhof, which is a beautiful three star hotel. And after if you're looking for a bit of fun The Alte Stube is a great and really friendly bar to meet the locals and have a shnapps or two. Also there steak may be one of the best in the world!

Obernberg Lake, Gereit.

Austria plays a massive part in our lives and this might be one of my favourite places in the country. Every year we walk the 30 minute walk up the snow covered Narnia like road to the top, to this beautiful iced over lake. There are more walks around the lake and in the summer you can go on some fantastic hikes around here. But for the winter we take in the view then jump on our sledges and ride back down the mountain. It's a great sledge run for all ages and is usually pretty deserted. So if you like scenic views, peace and quite and all with an easier walk this would be the place.
