Ouzoud waterfalls nr Marrakesh. Morocco

March, 2010

About 3hrs outside Marrakech in the Atlas Mountains are the Ouzoud waterfalls, pretty spectacular in size and location & Morocco being the country it is, you can walk right up to the edge of the falls. The walk to the bottom is amazing too with views & monkeys to keep you company. At the bottom is a funny homemade 'ferry' to take you across, but it was just a floating platform with chairs strapped to it, not too safe! You can swim here too (although we didn't as the water was pretty dirty after heavy rains) and explore the pool and rocks. We stayed in a beautiful riad right at the top of the falls which had amazing views from the roof, and ate an amazing tagine in a very strange little pop up mountain restaurant.

Ouzoud is a great day/2 day trip from Marrakech, go do it if your in the country.

Es Trenc, Mallorca

April, 2012

Paradise. Simply said I think that sums Es Trenc up. With the huge stretch of soft almost white sand, and the shallow warm water it feels like your closer to the tropics. Although I advise to bring a umbrella, as there's little shade and it can get very hot. There are a few little beach cafes but the food's expensive so bring a picnic too!

Marina Bay, Singapore.

January, 2013

Singapore was our 12 hour lay over on the way to Australia, luckily there was a FREE tour of the city from the airport. It was amazing we got on a bus and with an over excited tour guid we saw Singapore in two hours. With a quick stop at Marina Bay we were able to get a jump in before we hopped back on the bus to the airport and off to Australia!

Just a little note here about how totally amazing Singapore airport is. Anyone stopping over here will understand just how great it is... free wifi, cinemas, the free city tour which we talked about previously (a day and night time one!), butterfly and orchid gardens, massage chairs and lots of restaurants, including the obligatory Starbucks and Burger King. I love this airport, our 12hr lay over flew by. No wonder its been awarded best airport in the world!

Puerto Andratx, Mallorca

July, 2013

The Port is a little fishing village in the south west & one of our favourite places in Mallorca. Every summer we play tour guide to the family & friends visiting, starting at the Puerto with its many attractions! Firstly the port is the closest place to us for a night out & when hitting the town Tim's Bar is always our first port of call, followed by the only club in a 15m radius, the infamous Barracuda. Both are places our parents & us have been coming to for over 30yrs! Food wise, there is the best ice cream ever on the water front, our favourites are passion fruit, chocolate and something called quark & cherry, and you can cook your own steak on a hot stone at Rustico.
